Saturnino M. Borras Jr. will give a public lecture on the politics of land-grabbing and agrarian change which is followed by a panel discussion with civil society activists and researchers. About Saturnino ‘Jun’ M Borras Jr.:

Saturnino ‘Jun’ M Borras Jr. is an awarded academic and has written extensively on land issues and agrarian movements. He is the Editor-In-Chief of The Journal of Peasant Studies. He is Associate Professor at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in the Hague and Adjunct Professor at China Agricultural University. Borras is also a well known political activist. He was part of the core organising team that established the international peasant movement La Via Campesina. He is a fellow of the Transnational Institute and co-coordinator of Land Deal Politics Initiatives.
