Siemenpuun hallitus vastaa säätiön toiminnasta ja sen edustamisesta. Siemenpuun hallitukseen kuuluu vähintään kuusi, mutta enintään kymmenen jäsentä. Säätiön valtuuskunta valitsee hallituksen jäsenet. Hallituksen toimikausi on kalenterivuosi ja se kokoontuu yleensä 6-9 kertaa vuoden aikana.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland has informed that they plan to cut the funding of Siemenpuu Foundation for year 2016 by approximately 38 %. This is part of the massive cuts of the development cooperation funds announced by the new government. The cuts will hit hard the Siemenpuu Foundation and its partners in developing countries.


The new centre-right Finnish government has decided to cut development aid by 43%, prompting furious reactions from NGOs and fears other EU countries will follow its example.

The new Finnish government, which took power on 29 May and has former Commissioner Olli Rehn as minister of economic affairs, has decided to reduce the budget for development co-operation by 43%.


A panel discussion involving two Siemenpuu Foundation guests from India, a tribal-activist and a land-use researcher, together with University of Helsinki researchers.

[Uddhab Pyakurel and Marko Ulvila] Nepal Social Forum Secretariat organized a Social Forum Consultation on December 8, 2018 in Kathmandu. The meeting was organized to review developments in like-minded social movements in Nepal to strengthen democratic space as well as to discuss the reactivation of the WSF process at the South Asian and Asian regional level.


[Risto Isomäki] The International Solar Innovations Council (InSIC), a new international solar energy organization, organized its second major event in Finland, in Helsinki and Espoo, during 15-18 October, 2018.  The event was participated by approximately 150 people from 14 different countries, and consisted of three separate seminars and two InSIC working meetings.  One of the seminars


Karel Keiramo, Pia Korhonen, Uddhab Pyakurel and Marko Ulvila formed the Siemenpuu Foundation's delegation at the 6th International Degrowth Conference for Ecological Sustainability and Social Equity in Malmö, Sweden on 21-25 August 2018. Siemenpuu organised one session on systemic alternatives during the conference.
